May 14, 1999: Friday evening I signed at Barnes and Noble in Deptford, NJ. Thanks to Sherry for hosting a successful discussion/signing.
May 15, 1999: A Saturday signing at Waldenbooks in Montgomery Mall. Thanks to Sharon, the manager and a special thanks to Kendra for making Wither her "staff pick" and for taking the time to create a cool poster for the event.
May 20, 1999: Hosted a book discussion at the Woodbury Library in Woodbury, NJ. Thanks to the Friends of the Woodbury Library for a wonderful evening.
June 4-6, 1999: The Horror Writers Association annual meeting and Stoker Awards in Los Angeles, CA. On Sunday, I was part of the group HWA signing at Dark Delicacies (DD). On June 8, Tuesday, I signed copies of Wither for Mysterious Galaxy (MG) in San Diego. Both DD and MG are fine examples of independent genre bookstores run by active and interested owners.
June 19, 1999: a Saturday double-signing at two Waldenbooks locations. Capital City Mall, Camp Hill, PA then Colonial Park Mall, Harrisburg, PA.
July 31, 1999: Writers' Web workshop/convention: cancelled.
August 14, 1999: Spoke to the Garden State Horror Writers in Manalapan, NJ. GSHW was recently featured in the Courier Post of South Jersey.
September 25-26, 1999: New Atlantic Independent Booksellers Association Tradeshow (NAIBA), Phila., PA. I signed copies of Wither at 4PM on Saturday.
October 18, 1999: Spoke to the Logan Elementary School Teachers Book Club in a lively book club discussion. Thanks to all the Logan teachers there for supporting a local author.
October 23, 1999: My first of two pre-Halloween Wither book signings at Waldenbooks in the Hamilton Mall, Mays Landing, NJ.
October 30, 1999: My last pre-Halloween Wither signing at Waldenbooks in the Deptford Mall, Deptford, NJ.
November 12 - 14, 1999: Attended Philcon (Philadelphia Science Fiction & Fantasy Convention) and spoke on three panels: Reinventing Horror Fiction, Buffy the Vampire Slayer vs. High School in Real Life (I moderated this panel!), and Media Tie-in Novels as Cancer?

On Sunday, January 16, 2000, in the Philadelphia Inquirer -- Books, Book Club Section, Wither was the featured book.
March 1, 2000: Wither was released in paperback. Check out the paperback cover now.
March 11, 2000: The launch event signing for the paperback edition of Wither was held on this Saturday at Between Books (an independent store specializing in SF/F/H) in Claymont, DE. Congratulations to our prize winners!

May 4, 2000: I spoke at the CCEMA's 20th anniversary dinner (CCEMA is a New Jersey school librarians' association) in Williamstown, NJ.
May 6, 2000: I signed at Waldenbooks in the Granite Run Mall in Media, PA.
May 8, 2000: (MON) I spoke at a South Jersey public librarians luncheon.
May 11-14, 2000: I attended the World Horror Convention (WHC2000). Wither receives the Bram Stoker Award for Superior Achievement in a First Novel! I had a reading, was on a "novel" discussion panel and moderated a research-related panel. (Wither was also on the final ballot for the International Horror Guild Award in the First Novel category. The Divinity Student by Michael Cisco won the IHG Award.)
June 3, 2000: I signed at Waldenbooks in the Moorestown Mall in the afternoon, then at Waldenbooks in the Cherry Hill Mall in the evening.
June 7, 2000: My co-author (Joe Gangemi) and I were guest authors at on online chat hosted by horrorbooks.about.com.
