The next installment of my free, supernatural eSerial SHIMMER is now ready, a day before the usual Shimmer “Wednesday”. This one is another big (and, I hope, satisfying) chunk of the story: Chapters 30-34. With this release we’ve passed the halfway point in the manuscript. How are you liking it. Shimmer eSerial: Chapter 23-25, First Fan Name Used

I’ve posted the next three chapters of my FREE supernatural eSerial SHIMMER. Chapters 23-25 are now available in seven popular eBook formats: RTF, HTML, PDF (Desktop), PDF (Tagged, for reflow on portable devices), Mobipocket (also works on KINDLE), eReader and ePub. [I’m told that Tagged PDF works well on the Kindle as well.]

This installment represents 32 manuscript pages. By manuscript reckoning, we’re up to page 171. That’s a sizable chunk of the 101,000 word manuscript. I’ll let you know when we reach the halfway point.

Chapter 23 answers some of your questions about the Walkers and the rifts.

ALSO, for those wondering about my “have your name used for a character in my next book” contest (let’s call it the “namesake” contest from now on), the first winner appears in Chapter 25.

Latest SHIMMER Intallment & Chance to Get Stuff

I just posted the latest installment in my free SHIMMER eSerial (supernatural, serialized eBook) on my site. This excerpt begins PART TWO: RAVAGES and includes Chapters 19 through 22.

Also, beginning with PART TWO, I am going to have prize drawings for cool prizes, including WITHER TRILOGY mugs, KINDRED SPIRIT posters, signed cover flats, mouse pads, etc. How do you qualify for the prize drawings? Simple as 1-2-3:

(1) Join my mailing list (if you aren’t already on it), which you can do from any page on my site at http://www.passarella.com

(2) Post a SHIMMER banner with link to the Shimmer page ( ) and/or mention the free SHIMMER eSerial with a link to the Shimmer page on your Website or Blog. Either is good, but feel free to do both.

SHIMMER eSerial: Chapters 16-18 Posted

I seem to have fallen into a semi-regular schedule for the release of my free SHIMMER (supernatural thriller/dark fantasy) eSerial (serialized eBook), and that means that the next installment is ready for you in 7 popular eBook formats. This section includes Chapters 16 though 18, and concludes Part One of the novel.

Chapter 18 may not be for the faint of heart. Chapter 1 hinted at the violence to come. Chapter 18 delivers the goods. If you can make it through Chapter 18, you should be able to handle the rest of the novel.

If you’ll recall, I originally planned SHIMMER as book one in a trilogy. Each volume is stand-alone, but they would be interconnected. SHIMMER is the most visceral of the planned three books. Book Two, if I ever write it, is more psychological horror; and Book Three is a combination of the two, with a big dash of the surreal. (Think about Ambrose’s paintings.) Actually, you wouldn’t realize how connected the three books were until you were knee-deep into book three.

New SHIMMER Free eSerial Vertical/Sidebar Banners

People were asking for SHIMMER banners to place in the sidebars of their blogs or Websites. The previous banners were too wide for that, 468×60. I made two new banners, 190 wide by 400 high; one is animated, the other is not. The animated version is displayed in this post; the non-animated version uses the first frame.
