(Additional Info About my Fundraising Effort)

Dear Family and Friends,

In 2001, Matthew, my then-7-year-old son was diagnosed with an inoperable brain tumor and given six months to live. Today Matthew is a 13-year brain tumor survivor.

For seven years, my family ran the Matthew’s Miles walkathon to raise funds for pediatric brain tumor research. This year, on September 6, we’ll be running — with some of us walking — as TEAM MATTHEW’S MILERS to raise money for the Pediatric Brain Tumor Foundation as part of the 8.5K Starry Night Run/Walk.

Every day 13 more children in the United States are diagnosed with a brain tumor.

More than 28,000 children in the United States are living with a brain tumor. And each of the 28,000 steps in Starry Night’s 8.5K raises much-needed funds for lifesaving medical research and life-changing family support programs.

My sneakers are tied and I’m ready to hit the pavement! I have committed to help cure the kids!

I’ve registered to participate in Starry Night Philadelphia to support the Pediatric Brain Tumor Foundation,  shining a light on pediatric brain tumors and taking a stand against one of the deadliest forms of childhood cancer.

Please help me reach my fund-raising goal and support me as I join hundreds of other runners and walkers to cure the kids.

You can donate online. Your support will also give children with brain tumors—our Shining Stars—a brighter future. The kids can’t do it without you!

Please email me if you have questions about Starry Night or the Pediatric Brain Tumor Foundation. I hope you’re able to support my participation. I’ll keep you updated on my progress.

Wishing you peace and good health,
-John “Jack” Passarella
