Just before the walk began, the Gloucester County Board of Chosen Freeholders presented Andrea (and the entire Passarella family) with a proclamation. Pictured with Andrea are Emma and Luke. Freeholder Bill Krebs made the presentation.

Getting Ready to Walk

The balloons mark the head of the line! We had approximately 150 people walk in the First Annual Matthew's Miles Walk-for-a-Cure event!

Another view of the line. EMTs on bicycles followed along. Fortunately there were no mishaps or injuries along the route and, with Hurricane Isabel out of the way, we had a beautiful, sunny day for the walk.

A thoughtful Matthew drinks in the shade. Although he did not participate
in the walk itself, his own journey has been so much harder
than a two mile walk on a sunny day.

Our thanks to our sponsors go beyond anything we could write on a sponsor board. We deeply thank all of them for helping make the
First Annual Matthew's Miles a success!

THANK YOU!

Thanks to all who came and to all who supported this worthy cause! We had approximately 150 walkers and raised over $20,000 for brain research for the American Brain Tumor Association.

See you next year!
